I’m so proud of my church! Can’t wait to be in one of these countries next year!
Most cherished memory.
“I may not always be with you
But when we’re far apart
Remember, you will be with me
Right inside my heart”― Marc Wambolt
To the ones I have lost: Grandpa & my sweet dog Mickey.
My grandpa had a stroke and was unable to walk afterwards so he spent most of his days sitting in his favorite chair with Mickey laying on the floor by his side.
I remember seeing Grandpa lean over and stroke Mickey’s back all the time. It was such a sweet relationship. Even though they could not speak to each other, the comfort they brought to one another was so evident. Actions speak louder than words. Always.
They were best friends. I miss them both so much.

“Art is an evolutionary act. The shape of art and its role in society is constantly changing. At no point is art static. There are no rules.”

Came across an incredible website called Street Utopia. “We declare the world as our canvas.” Show cases all kinds of street art and the artist behind them, from all over the world. It’s really awesome! I told you, art is everywhere. Open your eyes and take it all in.

Post a few favorite quotes and your interpretation of each.
I love quotes! So many great ones. Right now, I’m feeling these:
“Faith in something greater than ourselves enables us to do what we have said we’ll do, to press forward when we are tired or hurt or afraid, to keep going when the challenge seems overwhelming and the course is entirely uncertain.”
I have loved this quote for so long. It explains exactly why I believe and carry the faith that I do. I worry less with Him by my side.
“There comes a point in life when you have to let go of the pointless drama and the people who create it and surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard you forget the bad and focus on the good. Afterall, life is too short to be anything but happy.”
Life motto. Enough said :)
“When you feel like giving up remember why you held on for so long in the first place.”
This quote fits and fixes the days I want to quit. We hold on to dreams and goals and people for a reason.. Usually the reason is worth trying again and not giving up on.
“Your art matters.” -One Tree Hill
I believe it with my whole heart. Art is passion. How can you say someone’s passion doesn’t matter?
“Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God’s grace. And your best days are never so good that you’re beyond the need of God’s grace.”
I am thankful, for all of it. Your grace will always enough.

“When you’re building a room, you’re building character, and character is the strength and wisdom of a home.”

After two years of living in my apartment without a desk, I all of a sudden, felt the NEED for one. So I bought a desk yesterday. :)

I love the simple, sleek, straight lines. It matches the rest of my furniture really well. Right now I’m using an old ottoman for seating but I’m in the process of finding a perfect vintage-ish chair.
“I strongly believe that people may not want, or may not be able, to start again from scratch, so giving old furniture a new lease of life is at the heart of my philosophy.”
-Nina Campbell
I love the open studio/loft style of my apartment but it makes it hard to divide the room so that every piece of furniture doesn’t look like it’s crowding the other.
After about thirty minutes of moving furniture around, I decided to place my desk next to the pub table. To split the space I’m going to paint a large 26x 34 in. painting as the backdrop to the table and smaller contrasting paintings to place on my desk.

What do you guys think? I’m not sure what to paint yet! I’m thinking something along the lines of floral, abstract and bold. :) I’ll probably post an entry about my painting process.. so stay tuned! ;)

This one is one of my favorites:

I adore this look and will probably add floating shelves above my desk too! My apartment will always be a work in progress. Home goods shopping is sweet for the soul. Do it often!
